Every figure above comes from checkout and was confirmed for Hamilton addresses in October 2026.

Short answer: Yes. GasDank ships cannabis to Hamilton by tracked express mail, covering the lower city, the Mountain, Stoney Creek, Ancaster, Dundas and Waterdown, and most parcels land 24 to 72 hours after they ship. Shipping is $20 unless the order reaches $150, at which point it ships free, and there is no minimum. Hamilton orders are paid by Interac e-Transfer with a $5 fee, and buyers must be 19 or older. Same-day delivery is not available at Hamilton addresses, because it only runs in Toronto and the GTA cities on our delivery page.

1

Why Hamilton orders ship instead of arriving same-day

GasDank's same-day drivers only cover Toronto and the GTA cities listed on our delivery page. Hamilton is its own city, outside that zone, so every Hamilton address is served by tracked mail order.

The nearest GTA same-day city is Burlington, across the harbour. An order to a Burlington address, Aldershot included, is an outer zone delivery with a $60 minimum, a $20 fee and free delivery from $160. An order to Waterdown, which is part of Hamilton, ships by mail like the rest of the city.

Checkout handles all of this. It reads the city and postal code on the delivery address and applies mail order pricing to Hamilton, so there is nothing to pick by hand.

Mail order to Hamilton has no minimum and no driver. You pay by e-Transfer, the parcel ships with tracking, and a courier brings it to the address on the order.

Hamilton neighbourhoods and what helps a parcel find you

Shipping costs the same in every part of Hamilton. What changes across the city is the type of building, and that decides what to write on the order.

Downtown Hamilton

Towers and older walk-ups around Gore Park, Jackson Square and the Hamilton GO Centre. Give the unit, the buzzer code and the building name, and clear the parcel room quickly if your building has one.

Westdale and Ainslie Wood

Many houses near McMaster University are split into student units. Put your room or unit in the address line and order in the name on your ID.

Locke Street and Kirkendall

Older brick homes, many converted into upper and lower flats. Say which door is yours, front, side or rear.

The Mountain

The upper city above the escarpment, reached by the Jolley Cut, the Claremont Access and the other mountain accesses. Icy accesses in winter can slow parcels coming up from below.

Stoney Creek

East along the QEW, from the lakeshore up to newer subdivisions on the Stoney Creek Mountain. Fresh streets there need an exact postal code.

Ancaster

On the city's southwest side off Highway 403, with the old village along Wilson Street and newer areas near the Meadowlands. Double-check the street type, Crescent, Court or Drive, before you pay.

Dundas

The valley town below the escarpment, with King Street West as its main street. If you live above a shop, name the entrance you use.

Waterdown

Part of Hamilton, north of Burlington's Aldershot. It ships by mail at Hamilton rates even though Burlington next door is in the GTA same-day zone.

Binbrook and Glanbrook

Growing subdivisions and rural roads south of the Mountain. Keep the civic number at the end of a rural driveway visible from the road.

North End and the waterfront

Older homes on narrow streets near Bayfront Park and Pier 4 Park. A clearly marked house number saves the courier a search.

Hamilton parcel habits that help

Most delays on Hamilton orders trace back to an address detail or a slow payment. These short lists cover the usual suspects.

Do

  • Include unit, buzzer and building name
  • Say which door: side, rear, upstairs
  • Pay the e-Transfer right away
  • Order in the name on your ID
  • Collect parcels from the lobby quickly
  • Reach $150 to skip shipping

Avoid

  • Expecting cash: Hamilton orders are e-Transfer only
  • Waiting for a driver: Hamilton has no driver service
  • Shipping to a student house you are leaving
  • Letting a box sit in a shared vestibule
  • Typing Burlington for a Waterdown address
  • Driving the Linc after an edible

Ontario cannabis law, Hamilton edition

Hamilton follows Ontario's rules on age, possession and growing, and city bylaws can add local limits on smoking. The numbers link to the official sources at the end of the page.

You must be 19

Ontario sets 19 as the minimum age to buy, use, possess or grow recreational cannabis, so a first-year student at McMaster or Mohawk who is 18 cannot order.[1]

30 grams in public

On a Hamilton street, trail or bus, an adult may have no more than 30 grams of dried flower, or its equivalent in another form.[4]

Counting other forms

Under Ontario's conversion, a quarter gram of shatter, 15 grams of gummies, 70 grams of a cannabis beverage or 5 grams of fresh bud each count as 1 gram of dried flower.[1]

4 plants per home

A Hamilton household gets 4 plants in total for personal use, whether one adult or five live there, unless the lease or condo rules say no.[1]

Campus residences

Smoking or vaping cannabis is banned in the indoor common areas of university and college residences, as well as condo and apartment common areas.[1]

Patios and hospitals

Not on restaurant or bar patios or within 9 metres of them, and not within 9 metres of a hospital entrance.[1]

Impaired driving

A blood THC level of 5 nanograms per millilitre or higher can mean a decade behind bars at most, and the 2 to 5 nanogram band brings a fine as high as $1,000.[3]

Edibles are slow

Health Canada notes that swallowed cannabis needs anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours before it registers, and it can keep working for as long as 24 hours.[2]

Ordering to a Hamilton address

A Hamilton mail order takes a few minutes online. These five steps cover everything between choosing products and opening the box.

Step 1

Pick your products

Shop flower, pre-rolls, edibles, hash and the rest of the menu. Any cart size works, and Hamilton orders of $150 or more ship free.

Step 2

Add your Hamilton address

Street, unit, buzzer code and postal code. Checkout sees a Hamilton address and applies mail order pricing automatically.

Step 3

Confirm you are 19+

Tick the age confirmation. If it is your first GasDank order, your ID gets verified before the Hamilton order is processed.

Step 4

Send the e-Transfer

Instructions come by text or email. Include the $5 e-Transfer fee in the amount you send for the Hamilton order.

Step 5

Track it to your door

The tracking number lands in your inbox when the order ships, and most Hamilton parcels arrive 24 to 72 hours after that.

Shop categories for Hamilton orders

Each of these categories ships to Hamilton, and one parcel can combine several of them.

How long a parcel takes to reach Hamilton

Most Hamilton parcels arrive 24 to 72 hours after they ship. Before that, two things have to happen: your e-Transfer has to arrive, and if you are a new client, your ID has to be verified. Do both promptly and the order is not held up at our end.

Once it ships, the courier network sets the pace. Parcels that leave late in the week may sit over the weekend, and statutory holidays add time. Timing can differ a little between the lower city, the Mountain and outlying areas such as Binbrook or rural Flamborough.

We do not promise a specific delivery day for mail order, and nobody can promise an hour. Your tracking email shows where the parcel is, and it is the best guide once the box is moving.

Apartments, student houses and parcel rooms

Towers, flats and student houses

Hamilton's housing is a mix, and each type has its own parcel habits. In downtown towers and the high-rises along the Mountain brow, parcels often land at a front desk, a parcel room or a lobby shelf. Collect yours quickly, because a lobby is not private.

Plenty of older lower city houses in Kirkendall, Durand and the North End have been split into flats. Write which unit you are and which door you use, and keep the house number readable from the sidewalk.

Near McMaster, student houses often change tenants in spring and fall. Ship only to an address where you will be when the parcel arrives, and never to a house you are moving out of that week.

In the newer subdivisions of Stoney Creek, Binbrook and Waterdown, the challenge is fresh street names. Copy the postal code from a recent bill.

Paying for a Hamilton parcel

e-Transfer only

Hamilton mail order is paid by Interac e-Transfer, and there is no other option. Cash is not accepted, because Hamilton parcels travel by courier with no driver to hand money to.

We text or email the transfer details once your Hamilton checkout is done. An e-Transfer adds $5 to what you pay, and a Hamilton order ships only after the money is received.

Send the amount shown in your order summary. Under $150, that figure includes the $20 shipping charge, and at $150 or more it does not. If your bank delays the transfer, call or text 647-660-7351 during 8 AM to 2 AM Eastern (until 3 AM Thursday to Saturday) so we can watch for it.

ID checks for new Hamilton customers

Every GasDank customer, Hamilton included, confirms they are 19 or older at checkout. For new clients, we verify ID before a first order is processed, and that applies to every Hamilton order whether it is going to Westdale or Waterdown.

Have valid government photo ID ready, in the same name as the Hamilton order. Hamilton has a large student population around McMaster University and Mohawk College, and some first-year students are still 18. Nobody under 19 can order, whatever the delivery address.

If you want to send something to a friend in Hamilton who is 19 or older, have them order in their own name so the ID check matches the person at the address.

Where smoking is allowed in Hamilton

Ontario lets adults smoke or vape cannabis at a private residence, on sidewalks, in parks and in plenty of other outdoor public spaces. Leases, condo boards, employers and other property owners can set tighter rules, and so can city bylaws.

The list of banned spots is long. It includes enclosed public places and workplaces, plus indoor common areas of condos, apartment buildings and campus residences. Any patio serving food or drinks is banned along with a 9 metre ring around it, and so are the 9 metres outside a hospital entrance, which covers Hamilton General, Juravinski and St. Joseph's.

Schoolyards, children's playgrounds, publicly owned sports fields and community recreation centre grounds each come with a 20 metre no-smoking margin. Bus shelters count as sheltered outdoor areas, so a covered HSR stop is off limits too.

Waterfalls, trails and the escarpment

Plenty of Hamilton weekends involve a waterfall hike, from Albion Falls on the east Mountain to Webster's Falls and Tew's Falls near Dundas. The 30 gram public possession limit applies on every trail, and the Bruce Trail is no exception.

Ontario law allows cannabis in many outdoor public places, but property owners can add their own restrictions. Conservation areas such as the Dundas Valley are run by a conservation authority, so read the posted rules at the trailhead before you light up.

Leave the car keys out of it. A hike to a waterfall usually ends with a drive home, and the impaired driving limits apply on a quiet escarpment road the same as on the 403.

“If you eat or drink cannabis, these effects can occur within 30 minutes to 2 hours and can last up to 24 hours.”
Health Canada, Health effects of cannabis

Edibles: give them 2 hours

Edibles behave differently from a joint. Per Health Canada, a swallowed dose can need between 30 minutes and 2 hours to register and may keep going for a full day, while smoke or vapour acts within seconds to minutes.

The common Hamilton house party mistake is taking a second gummy at the 1 hour mark and getting both doses at once later on. Pick a low dose, sit through the full 2 hours, and skip the beer that night.

Store edibles sealed and on a high shelf, clear of kids and pets. Infused candy looks exactly like the regular kind.

Driving the Linc, the Red Hill and the 403 after cannabis

A lot of Hamilton driving happens on the Lincoln Alexander Parkway, the Red Hill Valley Parkway, Highway 403 and the QEW, plus the mountain accesses in between. Hamilton Police Service enforces the same Criminal Code limits that apply across Canada.

The federal limits that Hamilton Police apply are set in nanograms of THC per millilitre of blood. A reading from 2 up to 5 nanograms is the lesser, summary charge, punishable by a fine reaching $1,000. Hit 5 nanograms and it becomes a hybrid offence with a 10 year maximum, and a blood alcohol level of 50 milligrams per 100 millilitres paired with 2.5 nanograms of THC is a crime as well.

THC can linger after you feel normal, and an edible can still be rising hours later. Take the HSR, a taxi or a rideshare, or stay where you are.

Terms on the Hamilton checkout and menu

Ship window

The 24 to 72 hours most Hamilton parcels spend between shipping and arrival. It starts when the Hamilton box leaves us, not when you pay.

Outer zone

The GTA cities, Burlington among them, where GasDank runs same-day delivery with a $60 minimum. Hamilton is not in it.

Free shipping

Hamilton orders of $150 or more ship without a charge. Smaller orders pay $20.

e-Transfer fee

The $5 added to every mail order payment, since e-Transfer is the only method.

THC and CBD

Shown on product pages where available. Flower lists a percentage, while edibles and vapes list milligrams.

Indica, sativa, hybrid

Strain type labels on the menu. They hint at the expected effect, but your own reaction may differ.

Grade

How flower is rated, from value grades up to AAA and AAAA. Grades reflect look, smell and burn.

Equivalent

Ontario's conversion for the 30 gram public limit, where 0.25 grams of concentrate equals 1 gram of dried flower.

Winter, the escarpment and parcel timing

Hamilton winters are milder than the snowbelt, but freezing rain on the escarpment can slow traffic on the mountain accesses, and a lake effect squall on the QEW can back up traffic for a long time. Build in the full 24 to 72 hours from December through March.

Cold changes products too. Vape oil gets thick in a freezing parcel, so let cartridges warm up indoors before using them, and chocolate edibles can turn chalky after a freeze and thaw.

Summer has its own problem. A box left in the sun on a Stoney Creek porch or a hot car seat can leak a cartridge, so bring it in as soon as it lands.

Hamilton order checklist

Run through these before you pay for a Hamilton order.

  • Full Hamilton street address and postal code
  • Unit, buzzer code and entrance noted
  • Name matches your government photo ID
  • You are 19 or older
  • Interac e-Transfer sent, $5 fee included
  • Someone home when tracking shows it is due
  • Cart total checked against $150

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I order weed online to a Hamilton address?

Yes, through tracked courier shipping. Downtown, the Mountain, Westdale, Stoney Creek, Ancaster, Dundas, Waterdown and Binbrook all qualify, and a typical Hamilton parcel turns up 24 to 72 hours after it leaves us. Same-day delivery is not offered in Hamilton, because it only runs in Toronto and the GTA cities on the delivery page.

Is there same-day weed delivery in Hamilton, or only mail order?

Only mail order. Hamilton is outside the GTA zone where same-day delivery runs, so Hamilton addresses ship by courier. The closest city with GTA same-day service is Burlington, in the outer zone. An order sent to a Burlington address follows those rules, starting at $60, while an order to Hamilton or Waterdown ships.

How fast does a weed parcel reach Hamilton?

Expect 24 to 72 hours in transit, counted from the moment the box ships. It goes out after your e-Transfer is received and, if you are new, after your ID clears. Weekends, statutory holidays and winter weather on the escarpment can stretch that range, so check the tracking email for the latest status.

How much does shipping to Hamilton cost?

Hamilton shipping is a flat $20 below $150 and nothing at all once the cart hits that mark. There is no minimum order. If you pay by Interac e-Transfer, which is the only option for mail order, a $5 fee is added. Checkout shows the exact total before you pay.

What is the smallest order I can ship to Hamilton?

There is no floor. A Hamilton order can be a single pre-roll pack or one vape cartridge. The $60 minimum applies only to same-day delivery in GTA cities such as Burlington or Oakville. Small Hamilton orders simply pay $20 shipping, and orders of $150 or more ship free.

Can I pay cash for a Hamilton order, or only e-Transfer?

Only Interac e-Transfer. A courier delivers Hamilton parcels, so there is no one at the door to take cash. Transfer details reach you by text or email, each transfer carries a $5 fee, and the box ships once the money shows up.

Do I need ID to order weed to Hamilton?

Yes. Checkout asks you to confirm you are 19 or older, and a new client's photo ID is checked before the first Hamilton order is processed. The name on the ID should match the name on the Hamilton order. This applies to students near McMaster and Mohawk exactly as it does to everyone else in Hamilton.

What is the legal age for weed in Hamilton?

The legal age in Hamilton is 19, because Ontario sets the age for buying, possessing, using and growing recreational cannabis at 19, the same as for alcohol. Hamilton cannot lower or raise it. GasDank only serves customers 19 and older, which rules out some first-year college and university students.

How much weed can I carry in public in Hamilton?

Thirty grams of dried flower, or an equivalent amount of other products. In Ontario's math, 15 grams of edible, 70 grams of drinkable product or a quarter gram of concentrate equals 1 gram of flower, so a mixed bag adds up quickly. The cap is the same on Hamilton streets, trails and HSR buses.

Can I grow cannabis at home in Hamilton?

Yes, within Ontario's rules. Each residence is capped at 4 plants for personal use, however many adults live there, and growers must be 19 or older. Seeds or seedlings have to be bought from an authorized source, and a rental agreement or condo rule can ban growing, so check before planting in a rented lower city flat or student house.

Can I smoke weed in a Hamilton park?

Check the City of Hamilton's bylaws first. Ontario law allows cannabis in many outdoor public places, parks included, but not within 20 metres of a playground, a school's grounds or a publicly owned sports field, and municipalities can add their own restrictions. Restaurant and bar patios, hospital entrances, enclosed public places and campus residence common areas are off limits everywhere.

When do edibles start working?

Somewhere between 30 minutes and 2 hours after you swallow them, according to Health Canada, and the effects can linger up to 24 hours. Choose a low dose, let 2 full hours pass before having more, and avoid alcohol. Most bad edible nights in Hamilton start with a second dose taken too soon.

Is weed mail order to Hamilton discreet?

Yes. Hamilton parcels go out in discreet packaging, with tracking sent to your inbox. In an apartment tower or a split house, pick up the box from the lobby, parcel room or shared porch as soon as tracking shows it has arrived.

Does Waterdown get the same service as Burlington?

No. Waterdown is part of the City of Hamilton, so it ships by mail order at Hamilton rates, even though it borders Burlington. Burlington, including Aldershot, is in the GTA outer zone for same-day delivery. Checkout decides from the Waterdown or Burlington city name and postal code on the address.

What can I order to Hamilton?

Everything on the menu can ship to Hamilton, from value flower through AAA and AAAA to pre-rolls, gummies and chocolates, vape carts and disposables, hash, shatter and CBD. Each product page lists potency, strain type and grade when we have them. Hamilton stock changes often, and current deals sit on the deals page.

When can I reach customer service?

Customer service runs 8 AM to 2 AM Eastern (until 3 AM Thursday to Saturday). Call or text 647-660-7351 about a Hamilton order, a payment or a tracking question. Give the name on the order plus the tracking code, and mention your neighbourhood if the address is a split house or a building with a parcel room.
