Jealousy was Leafly‘s Strain of the Year for 2022. This flower comes in amounts from 1 g up to 1 oz, with 1/8, 1/4 and 1/2 oz in between.
Seed Junky’s Sherbert and Gelato 41 cross
Leafly says Seed Junky Genetics bred Jealousy by crossing Sherbert Bx1 with Gelato 41, and AllBud gives the parents as Gelato 41 and Sherbet, calling it an evenly balanced hybrid with a 50% indica, 50% sativa split. Our Jealousy guide describes it as a balanced hybrid that leans indica. Leafly lists Permanent Marker and Purple Octane as children, and its grow notes describe a plant that is hard to grow from seed, stays short to medium in height, gives a medium yield and flowers in 8 to 9 weeks.
Near-black buds with a peppery, fruity nose
Leafly reviewers describe very dark, near-black purple buds, while AllBud describes small, spade-shaped buds of olive green with purple undertones, thin orange hairs and tiny purple-tinted white trichomes. On the nose, Leafly reviewers pick up pepper, spicy herbs and fruity sweetness, with a note like dried apricot, and Leafly’s flavour tags are pepper, plum and apricot. Reviewers also tell Leafly it tastes earthy and funky. AllBud describes a very sweet, creamy, fruity flavour with a sour citrus overtone that grows stronger on the exhale, and an aroma of sour citrus accented by fruity vanilla.
Caryophyllene and a fuel-like edge
Caryophyllene leads Leafly’s terpene data, and Leafly links it with a fuel-like aroma; limonene and myrcene follow, sometimes with linalool and humulene. Our Jealousy guide sums up the profile as creamy, funky and sweet gas, driven by caryophyllene, and our limonene guide explains the citrus terpene that comes second.
Relaxed head, energetic body, high-20s THC
Leafly reviewers say Jealousy leaves them mentally relaxed but physically energetic, with giggly, relaxed and talkative as the top reported effects, and Leafly rates the effects as mostly energizing. AllBud describes a lifted, happy feel with heady euphoria, a touch of creativity and a boost of motivation and focus, over a relaxing body high. Leafly lists THC at 25% and says the strain can test into the high 20s, while AllBud gives 28% to 30%. Leafly users rate it 4.6 from 399 ratings, and AllBud 4.7 from 84 votes.
When smoking, Health Canada‘s tips are to open with 1 or 2 puffs, to favour products at 10% THC or under, and to expect the peak up to 30 minutes later. Its guidelines also say to hold off on driving for at least 6 hours.
