What the quads grade means

Quads is one of the shorthand grades Canadian sellers use for quality tiers, alongside AAA and AAAA, and none of them is an official standard.

Mint green buds with pink undertones

AllBud describes Pink Unicorn buds as spade-shaped and mint green, with vivid pink undertones, orange hairs and a thick frosting of white trichomes tinted pink. Steven De Guzman’s tip in our Pink Unicorn guide is to check for pink and purple tints, since Riot Seeds bred the cross to bring out colour.

Citrus aroma, a lifted high and two parents

By AllBud’s account, the buds smell of sharp lemon and lime with a spicy, woody note, picking up an earthy, sour edge when lit, and the exhale tastes of sour lemon and lime. AllBud’s longer write-up describes a cerebral rush with motivation and sharp focus, and sums up the effect as lifted and energized. Its users tag the effects euphoria, focus, giggly and uplifting, and they rate the strain 4.7 from 26 votes.

AllBud lists the parents as Purple Unicorn and Blood Rose and calls Pink Unicorn a sativa dominant hybrid, roughly 75% sativa and 25% indica. Our guide adds that the Purple Unicorn side came from Bodhi Seeds, and AllBud ties the name to that parentage and to the strain’s looks.

AllBud’s THC range and a measured start

AllBud puts the strain’s THC between 15% and 23%. Health Canada‘s advice for smoking is to start with 1 or 2 puffs and to choose products with 10% THC or less, noting that the full effect may not arrive for up to 30 minutes. Its lower-risk guidelines add that driving should wait at least 6 hours after cannabis use.
