Pink Unicorn Strain: Profile, Aroma and Effects

Pink Unicorn is a cross of Purple Unicorn and Blood Rose. SeedFinder lists it as a mostly sativa strain from Riot Seeds and quotes the breeder: Riot took Bodhi Seeds' Purple Unicorn cut, which it calls the essence of Chemdog D with heavy purple colouring, and added its own pink and red Blood Rose male to push the colours further. Riot also notes the cross carries a double dose of Blackberry genetics.

AllBud agrees on the parents and calls Pink Unicorn a sativa-dominant hybrid, 75% sativa and 25% indica, and Weedmaps lists the same parents and files it as a hybrid. Leafly has no page for the strain.

AllBud describes spade-shaped, minty green buds with pink undertones, orange hairs and a thick coat of pink-tinted trichomes, and Riot Seeds lists the colours as purplish; the guide to purple weed explains where those shades come from.

Broken up, the buds release sharp lemon and lime aromas with a spicy, woody overtone that turns earthy and sour when burned, according to AllBud, and the taste follows with spicy citrus and a sour lemon-lime finish. Weedmaps' summary, which it says is generated automatically from product listings, adds berry and blackberry notes, which fits Riot's note that some plants show heavy Blackberry traits.

AllBud describes a cerebral rush that leaves people feeling lifted, energized, euphoric and focused, which can turn giggly as the high goes on, and it advises minding your dosage if you have things to do. Weedmaps' product-based summary lists euphoric, energetic, uplifted, creative and focused effects.

With a lightly documented strain, the batch matters more than the name. Start with a small amount, and Health Canada's lower-risk cannabis use guidelines advise not driving for at least 6 hours after using cannabis.

AllBud lists Pink Unicorn at 15% to 23% THC. Neither Weedmaps nor SeedFinder gives a figure, so read the THC and CBD numbers on the batch label.

SeedFinder's family tree runs back through Chem Dawg on the Purple Unicorn side, and through The Pure, a Skunk #1 line, on the Blood Rose side. The Chem Dog strain profile and Skunk #1 profile cover those 2 ancestors.

The menu box on this page shows whether Pink Unicorn is on the GasDank menu right now; if it is not, it lists in-stock hybrid flower instead. GasDank offers same-day delivery across Toronto and the GTA, usually within 1 to 2 hours, and mail order across Canada. Toronto and Mississauga orders have a $40 minimum, with free delivery from $80 ($15 below that). Customers must be 19 or older (21 in Quebec), with ID checked. Because strain names can cover different genetics, look for lab-tested flower with clear THC and CBD numbers that looks and smells fresh.
