What is Cherry Pie?
Cherry Pie is a hybrid whose parents Leafly lists as Granddaddy Purple and F1 Durb. Weedmaps traces the original clone-only cut to Bay Area breeder Pieguy, who crossed Granddaddy Purple with an F1 Durban line, and says a grower known as Jigga circulated the selected cut, tying it to the early Cookie Family scene in San Francisco. According to Weedmaps, that version took third place in the Medical Sativa category at the 2014 Denver High Times Cannabis Cup.
A second Cherry Pie also exists. Weedmaps says Riot Seeds crossed the original female clone with a WCD 710 male carrying West Coast Dawg and Sugenite OG genetics, creating a separate, sativa-leaning seed line that stays fairly short and can turn deep maroon and purple. Sources also disagree on the original's lean: AllBud calls it 80% indica, while Leafly lists it simply as a hybrid with mostly energizing effects.
