Platinum Cookies

Labelled hybrid and sold in 1 g, 3.5 g, 7 g, 14 g and 28 g weights, this flower carries the name of Platinum Cookies, a strain Leafly also lists as Platinum GSC and PGSC.

An OG Kush and Durban Poison cross

AllBud describes an even hybrid, 50% indica and 50% sativa, bred by crossing OG Kush with Durban Poison, and Leafly names the same two parents. Leafly calls Platinum Cookies a popular hybrid and the next evolution of GSC, and lists Candyland and Brownie Scout as strains bred from it. AllBud says the name comes from its very frosty look and its sweet cookie-kush flavour.

Olive green nugs under thick frost

AllBud pictures compact, dark olive green nugs with deep amber hairs, every surface covered by a very thick layer of small, bright-white crystal trichomes. Leafly also mentions heavy frosting of crystal trichomes over sage green leaves. One customer found the buds “fresh” and “beautifully presented.”

Berry and candy first, spice at the finish

According to Leafly, sweet berry and candy notes reach the nose and lungs first, followed by a fruity, spicy finish, and its top flavour tags are sweet, flowery and earthy. AllBud lists candy and sweet as flavours and says the aroma follows the flavour closely, with an added heavy musky, fragrant and pungent side. AllBud’s aroma tags are berry, dank, musky, nutty, spicy and sweet.

On terpenes, Leafly puts caryophyllene first, then limonene and myrcene.

THC figures and what reviewers report

Leafly gives the strain THC around 17% and CBD at 0%, while AllBud’s average THC range is 18% to 26%, with CBN at 1%. Relaxed, euphoric and happy are the three feelings Leafly reviewers mention most. AllBud describes the classic GSC high with stronger effects: a euphoric boost and a happy, at-ease mood, followed by a tingly, relaxing body buzz.

With strain figures in that range, the smoking advice from Health Canada is a first dose of one or two puffs, ideally from a product capped at 10% THC, allowing as much as 30 minutes for the effects to build.
