LA Aromatic’s entry on California’s Unflavored Tobacco List
California’s Unflavored Tobacco List carries Backwoods LA Aromatic Cigars, naming ITG Cigars Inc. as the maker and recording the style in 5-count pouches that go into 8-pack cartons, with December 31, 2025 as the date added. A place on that list means the maker has certified the style as having no constituent that imparts a characterizing flavour.
The list comes from California’s Department of Justice, and the certifications behind it are sworn by manufacturers and importers under penalty of perjury.
Filler, wrapper and no binder inside a Backwoods
According to CSP Daily News, a Backwoods is built from only two kinds of leaf, filler and wrapper, and has no binder. A typical cigar has three parts: filler at the core, a binder leaf around that and a wrapper leaf on the outside.
Our Fronto vs Backwoods guide explains what many blunt rollers do with a Backwoods: unroll the cigar, scrap the tobacco filler and save just the outer leaf as the casing for their cannabis.
