The Backwoods build behind Russian Cream
Imperial Brands, owner of the brand, says a 100% broadleaf tobacco wrapper goes on all Backwoods cigars and gives each of them a unique appearance. Under that leaf there is just filler, with no binder between the two, according to a CSP Daily News report on how Backwoods are put together. A typical cigar adds a third layer between them, a binder leaf around the filler.
Opening a Russian Cream Backwoods to roll
Plenty of people, as our Fronto vs Backwoods guide explains, use a Backwoods as the shell for a hand-rolled blunt: they unroll the cigar, tip out its tobacco and put cannabis into the leaf instead. For that first unrolling, the guide advises locating the loose end of the leaf and working it back gradually; the leaf is fragile, and a torn one is difficult to roll.
The Backwoods timeline behind Russian Cream
Imperial Brands’ timeline marks 1973 as the year Backwoods was introduced in the United States, and ITG Brands puts the national introduction, across the whole country, in 1981.
