G13, Afghan and Neville’s A5 Haze

The profile on Barney’s Farm’s strain page gives the cross as G13 x Afghan x Neville’s A5 Haze, and the breeder labels it a Cup Winner. Our Tangerine Dream guide places Barney’s Farm in Amsterdam. Leafly‘s description names G13, Afghani and Neville’s A5 Haze and calls the strain sativa-leaning, and AllBud calls it one of the most popular sativa-dominant hybrids. Leafly lists Purple Poison and Mandarine 47 as strains bred from it.

Tangy tangerine over a peppery base

Barney’s Farm describes tangy tangerine aromas and flavours. Leafly’s top flavours are orange, citrus and tropical, and its text mentions a citrusy aroma; AllBud describes the aroma as sweet and intensely citrus, with berry, sugary and sweet among its flavour tags.

Steven De Guzman’s tip in our guide relays a Leafly grower’s note: a jar left to rest gives off a sweet-shop smell over black pepper, and the tangerine comes forward once it is lit. He suggests peeling a clementine alongside. As for terpenes, Leafly’s data puts myrcene ahead of caryophyllene and limonene.

Large colas with red and orange trichomes

Barney’s Farm says the colas grow large and heavy, coated with red and orange trichomes, and that the plants need support in the final weeks of flowering. Indoors, the breeder gives a height of 90 to 110 cm, flowering in 60 to 65 days and a yield of 500 to 600 g per square metre; outdoors, 120 to 150 cm, about 800 g per plant and a harvest in the first or second week of October. Leafly puts flowering at 8 to 10 weeks.

An uplifted, clear-headed high in reports

Uplifted, happy and focused are the top effects on Leafly, whose description speaks of an uplifting, euphoric high with mental clarity and whose effect meter reads mostly energizing. AllBud describes immediate euphoria and happiness with an uplifted, creative mood that leaves the mind clear, and a cerebral energy felt through the whole body. Barney’s Farm calls the effects energizing and uplifting, with enhanced creativity. The strain averages 4.3 from 1,049 ratings on Leafly and 4.7 from 50 votes on AllBud.

Three THC figures and Health Canada’s pacing

Barney’s Farm puts the strain’s THC at 23%, AllBud at 25% and Leafly at about 20%, with CBG near 1%. Each of those figures is at least double the 10% THC that Health Canada suggests as an upper limit for a first smoke, which it also starts at 1 or 2 puffs. Smoked cannabis, the agency notes, is felt within seconds to minutes and may take as long as 30 minutes to peak.
