Two amounts of this Purple Haze flower are offered, half an ounce and a full ounce. Leafly says the strain’s buds typically take on lavender hues, fitting a name that AllBud traces to Jimi Hendrix’s 1967 song.
Mint green, purple hairs and sticky resin
AllBud describes long, dense, pepper-shaped buds in pale mint green with deep purple undertones. In AllBud’s account they are threaded with long, thin hairs in light and dark purple and finished with a fine coat of milky trichomes and sticky resin.
Lavender, violet and berry
Lavender, flowery and violet lead Leafly’s flavour tags, and Leafly traces its sweet, earthy flavours with berry and sharp spice back to the Purple Thai and Haze parents. AllBud tags the flavour berry, fruity, grape, spicy and sweet, and the aroma blueberry, earthy, fruity, spicy and sweet. By AllBud’s description, the smell is sweet, earthy and berry-like and the taste a pungent berry with a hint of spice.
Steven De Guzman’s tip in our Purple Haze guide starts from those Leafly tags: he suggests serving blackberries with a glass of lavender lemonade to echo the strain’s floral, berry character.
Terpenes: myrcene, caryophyllene, limonene
In Leafly’s terpene data for the strain, myrcene comes out on top, with caryophyllene second and limonene third. Limonene, the citrus terpene of the three, gets its own write-up in our limonene guide.
THC, a driving rule and storage
AllBud’s write-up puts the strain’s average THC at 14 to 19%, while Leafly’s strain figure is about 16%. Our guide calls Purple Haze a classic sativa-leaning strain and sums up what reviewers describe as a creative, euphoric and energetic high.
Health Canada’s lower-risk guidelines advise against driving within 6 hours of using cannabis. With a half ounce or an ounce on hand, our storage guide explains how to keep flower fresh.
