Why a THC drink starts slowly
The THC in a cannabis drink is processed by the liver before it acts, which makes its onset slower than a joint’s and its effects longer-lasting. Health Canada‘s lower-risk advice for edibles is a product with no more than 2.5 mg of THC (this can is labelled 50 mg, twenty times that), and it warns that the first effects can take between 30 minutes and 2 hours to arrive, with the full effect up to 4 hours away.
