Driving after cannabis in Sudbury
Federal limits on every road
From the Kingsway to Lasalle Boulevard and out on the Southwest Bypass, the federal THC limits apply to anyone behind the wheel.
At 2 nanograms of THC per millilitre of blood, a person driving can face a summary offence and a fine of up to $1,000. At 5 nanograms or more it becomes a hybrid offence carrying up to 10 years in prison. If alcohol is involved, the combined line is 50 milligrams of alcohol per 100 millilitres of blood together with 2.5 nanograms of THC.
GOVA Transit, a taxi or a sober friend will get you home. Winter roads are no place to test how an edible is treating you.
Parks, arenas and the 20 metre buffer
Ontario lets adults use cannabis in many outdoor public places, but plenty of Sudbury parks hold a playground, a ball field or a community centre, and those come with buffers.
