Colombian, Mexican, Thai and Afghani parentage

The Colombian, Mexican, Thai and Afghani blend is AllBud’s account of how the strain was made, and Leafly describes the same four varieties. AllBud’s balance is 65% sativa to 35% indica, and it writes the name as AK, AK47 or AK 47. White Russian and Candy Cane appear among the strains bred from it in Leafly’s genetics panel.

Spade-shaped nugs with thick orange hairs

AllBud describes oversized, spade-shaped, minty-green nugs with thick orange hairs and a frosty layer of amber trichomes. One Leafly reviewer, recalling AK grown in Vermont in the late 1990s, remembers big lime-green buds with orange-red hairs under a thick white and blue trichome coat.

Sour and earthy in the jar, sweeter in the taste

Leafly says the scent is sour and earthy while the sweet floral notes come through mainly in the taste; its flavour tags are skunk, tobacco and earthy. AllBud calls the flavour sour yet sweet, flowery and earthy, finishing on a lightly spicy exhale that builds as you keep puffing, with an earthy, herbal aroma and flowery spice.

Leafly’s terpene ranking, built from lab data, starts with myrcene and continues with pinene and caryophyllene.

A cerebral lift, and 19% THC on Leafly

Hungry, happy and talkative are the tags Leafly reviewers use most, and Leafly’s description says AK 47 can give a steady, lasting head buzz suited to creative or social activity while staying alert. AllBud describes a high that starts right after the exhale as a cerebral lift with buzzy euphoria, easy conversation and a lightly relaxed body. THC reads about 19% (CBD 0%) on Leafly and 13% to 20% (CBD 1%) on AllBud.

On the growing side, Leafly’s notes list mildew resistance, bushier plants when topped early, and stacked, dense buds when the lower branches are stripped.
