Heisenberg Diamonds Gelato

Gelato lends its name to these THCA diamonds from Heisenberg, a concentrate of crystals formed in a cannabis extract.

How an extract yields diamonds

As a cannabis extract separates, THCA can come out of it as solid crystals, and those are the diamonds. Heat is the step that turns their THCA into THC. Our guide to THC diamonds goes through how they are made.

Gelato’s lineage and flavour notes

Gelato’s parents, per Leafly and AllBud, are Sunset Sherbet and Thin Mint GSC. Leafly’s type for it is an evenly balanced hybrid; AllBud’s split is 55% indica to 45% sativa.

Leafly describes the strain’s taste and smell as sweet, with fruity and creamy notes, and lists caryophyllene, limonene and humulene as its leading terpenes. AllBud compares the flavour to sweet sherbet with blueberry and orange. Leafly’s reviewers mostly name relaxed and euphoric as their effects, and our Gelato guide says users describe a euphoric, relaxed high that sinks into the body.

Where diamonds fit in Health Canada’s advice

Diamonds come out of an extract, and Health Canada groups extracts as high in THC, giving hash, kief, wax and shatter as examples; new or occasional users, it suggests, should pass on them. Its lower-risk guidelines also apply to concentrates: no driving until at least 6 hours after use.
