Moby Dick

Moby Dick is flower named for a cross of Haze and White Widow. Leafly calls it a sativa and credits Dinafem Seeds as the original breeder. AllBud files it as a sativa dominant hybrid, 75% sativa to 25% indica. Dinafem Seeds presents it as a feminised seed at 60% sativa and 40% indica.

Lemon, mint and church incense

Leafly’s flavour tags are citrus, flowery and menthol, and its write-up describes a flavour led by vanilla with strong eucalyptus undertones. Its reviewers mention a fruity smell with a hint of coffee, a minty, herbal and citrusy flavour, and a lemon-citrus taste.

AllBud describes a citrusy smell and flavour, with an earthy lemon taste and a sweet floral aroma. Its reviewers describe the unburnt smell as mint, eucalyptus and woody incense, and the burnt smell as church incense with a fruity, skunky funk.

Dinafem says growers describe lemon, spice and incense with Haze and cedar tones, and quotes the creator comparing the smell to the pew of an old church.

THC figures from three sources

Leafly gives THC as 17%, with its potency gauge reading higher than average. Dinafem gives 17% to 22% THC and 0.01% to 0.2% CBD. AllBud’s header shows 27% THC, while its text says the strain tops 21% in some tests.

The high as the sources describe it

Leafly describes the effects as more energizing than relaxing, with a buzzy, motivating head high; its effect tags are euphoric, focused and talkative. AllBud says the heavy sativa genes give a strongly euphoric, creative high with an upbeat mood, clear-headed yet relaxing overall, and its reviewers call it energizing, euphoric and head-oriented rather than body-oriented.

Dinafem calls the effect very strong and long-lasting, borderline psychedelic, with strong hunger.

Prizes and plant notes

Dinafem Seeds lists prizes for the strain, among them first prize in the Outdoor class at Copa El Punto in 2007 and Best Sativa at SummerCup in 2011 in the Canary Islands. It describes a tall, Christmas-tree-shaped plant with a very large main cola. Leafly says growers like the strain for its short flowering period and natural resistance to mould.
