Funky Charms Strain: Grease Monkey x Rainbow Chip

Funky Charms is a cross of Grease Monkey and Rainbow Chip, according to Leafly, AllBud and Weedmaps. Weedmaps says Washington-based Exotic Genetix created it and calls it one of the breeder's most established strains, with offspring such as Milk Party and Funkdafied. AllBud says the name reflects its sweet flavour and funky high, likening it to its namesake cereal.

Both parents are Exotic Genetix strains. Leafly's Grease Monkey page lists GG4 x Cookies and Cream, and its Rainbow Chip page describes a Sunset Sherbet x Mint Chocolate Chip cross from the breeder's 2018 Mint Chocolate Chip lineup. On type, Leafly lists a hybrid and AllBud an even 50/50 hybrid, while Weedmaps calls it indica-dominant.

AllBud describes oversized, diamond-shaped, emerald green buds with thin orange hairs and golden-white trichomes. Weedmaps calls the aroma distinctly funky, and a Leafly reviewer growing it describes a gassy funk.

Leafly reviewers most often taste grapefruit, apple and cheese, while AllBud describes a sweet, sugary, fruity flavour with chocolate, vanilla, sour citrus and a spicy menthol edge. Leafly's lab data puts caryophyllene first, then limonene and pinene, and Weedmaps lists beta-caryophyllene, linalool and limonene; our cannabis terpenes guide explains each one.

Leafly rates Funky Charms as mostly calming, and its reviewers most often report feeling relaxed, sleepy and euphoric. Weedmaps describes calming, sedative and intensely euphoric effects. AllBud's description has more lift: a quick onset with creative, sociable energy and a tingle that gives way to physical sedation. One Leafly reviewer found it relaxing without couch lock in small amounts and more sedating in larger ones.

The negatives Leafly reviewers list most are dry mouth, dry eyes and dizziness. Start with a small amount, and do not drive for at least 6 hours after use, as Canada's lower-risk cannabis use guidelines advise.

Leafly lists 18% THC and 0% CBD, and AllBud 22% to 24% THC. Weedmaps gives no figure but says it reaches relatively high THC with almost no minor cannabinoids. Potency varies between growers and batches, so check the label; our guide to how much THC percentage matters explains what the number does and does not tell you.

Donkey Butter shares Grease Monkey as a parent: Leafly's Grease Monkey page lists it as a child. One generation further back, Leafly lists GG4 as a parent of Grease Monkey and Sunset Sherbet as a parent of Rainbow Chip. Weedmaps names Purple Punch, Candy Cane and Rainbow Chip as similar strains.

The menu box on this page shows whether Funky Charms is on the GasDank menu right now; if it is not, it lists in-stock hybrid flower instead. GasDank's flower comes from small-batch growers and is kept in UV-protected jars until it is packed. Same-day delivery covers Toronto and the GTA, usually within 1 to 2 hours: Toronto and Mississauga orders have a $40 minimum (free delivery from $80, $15 below that), and outer GTA orders a $60 minimum (free from $160, $20 below that). Mail order ships across Canada. Customers must be 19 or older (21 in Quebec), with ID checked. Browse hybrid flower and compare the THC and CBD numbers on each batch.
