Blackberry Kush

BBK is the nickname Leafly uses for Blackberry Kush, the Afghani and Blackberry cross that gives this flower its name.

Afghani on one side, Blackberry on the other

Leafly describes Blackberry Kush as an indica-dominant hybrid of Afghani and Blackberry, and AllBud lists it as an indica. Our Blackberry Kush guide adds that SeedFinder considers the original more likely to be Blackberry crossed with Bubba Kush. Blackberry Moonrocks and Black Cherry Pie descend from it, according to Leafly.

Hashy fuel over sweet berries

Leafly describes a hashy flavour with jet-fuel notes in both taste and aroma, balanced by sweet berries, and its flavour tags are berry, sweet and earthy. AllBud describes a strong Kush smell that is smooth, sweet and heady, and less pungent than might be expected, with a taste that follows the smell and carries a berry note; berry, diesel and sweet are its flavour tags.

Steven De Guzman’s tip in our guide is to set out a bowl of fresh blackberries alongside, which brings the fruit forward against the fuel.

Dense buds streaked with purple and black

AllBud describes dense buds coated with trichomes and red hairs, with streaks of yellow, purple and black running through them, while growers quoted by Leafly describe dense purple-and-orange nugs on a plant that is usually not a big yielder and needs roughly 7 to 8 weeks to flower.

Peppery caryophyllene and mellow reports

Leafly’s terpene data lists caryophyllene, which it calls peppery, as dominant, then limonene and myrcene. Leafly reviewers most often report feeling relaxed and hungry, and AllBud’s effect tags are euphoria, happy, hungry and mellow.

On Leafly, THC shows around 17% with CBD at 0%, and the potency gauge reads above average; AllBud lists 20% THC and 2% CBN. Leafly’s average for the strain is 4.2 across 2,067 ratings, and AllBud’s is 4.6 across 84 votes.
