How the 300 mg divides

One bar, which Buudabomb also calls a box, holds 15 pieces, and the brand’s shop lists 20 mg of THC per piece. Distillate, the source of that THC, is a refined cannabis oil that is common in edibles and vape cartridges.

Six ingredients, labelled vegan and organic

From a Toronto kitchen

The bar comes out of Toronto, where Buudabomb runs a commercial kitchen of its own for its edibles, according to the brand. Besides chocolate, which it describes as vegan, Buudabomb makes THC gummies and a CBD line of gummies and drip coffee.

Waiting out the first piece

The brand’s own suggestion is one piece first, then 40 to 50 minutes of patience before any more. Health Canada suggests looking for 2.5 mg of THC or less in a lower-risk edible, an eighth of one 20 mg piece. It also says an edible may not show any effect for 30 minutes to 2 hours, with its strongest point up to 4 hours away. Swallowed THC has to be processed by the liver first, which is also why a piece of chocolate lasts longer than a joint.
