Blueberry Yum Yum

In 14 g and 28 g sizes, Blueberry Yum Yum is a flower that AllBud says is more often called simply Yum Yum, another name Leafly lists too.

Ludacris and a suspected Durban Poison parent

Leafly credits the strain’s rise in popularity to the rapper Ludacris and the song he built around it. On lineage, Leafly calls it a definite descendant of the well-known Blueberry indica and names a Durban Poison sativa as the suspected other parent. Leafly’s genetics block also shows one child, Jahmagic.

Because those parents come from opposite ends of the spectrum, Leafly says effects can vary widely, and it lists the strain as a hybrid; AllBud’s header calls it a 50/50 hybrid. What separates those labels is the focus of our strain type explainer.

Blue, purple and frosty

AllBud describes buds that are very blue, true to the name, with some white texture. Two Leafly reviewers saw bright, frosty buds, one with plenty of purple over bright green and the other with blue and purple hues.

Blueberry pancakes, mint and pine

Leafly notes an unmistakable blueberry aroma, with earthy mint and pine accents in the flavour, and one of its reviewers compares the smell to blueberry pancakes and calls the smoke very fruity and herbal. AllBud finds the strain very aromatic and fruity, with a taste that follows the smell, blueberry first over lighter fruit. An AllBud reviewer describes a thick, fruity aroma on opening the jar. Reported effects and a 27% THC figure

Happy, giggly and uplifted are the feelings Leafly reviewers report most, and Leafly’s gauge tilts toward energizing. AllBud describes a warm, mellow high lasting roughly 2 to 3 hours, depending on how much is smoked, and says some find the buzz milder than other strains, which is why some see it as a social, daytime strain.

As strain figures go, AllBud’s is about 15% THC and Leafly’s about 18%, plus 1% CBG. This flower is recorded at 27% THC, well past the 10% line that Health Canada‘s lower-risk page draws for a first smoke, a smoke it would keep to a puff or two.
