Heisenberg Badder Blue Gelato

Blue Gelato, which Barney’s Farm sells as Blue Gelato 41, lends its name to this Heisenberg badder, an extract whipped until it is as creamy and scoopable as cake batter.

Sweet blueberry, citrus and a sour exhale

AllBud says Blue Gelato is known for a very tasty flavour, which it describes as very sweet, citrusy and fruity blueberry ending on a lightly sour exhale. On the nose it finds earthy berries and herbs, lightly sour citrus and fresh orange.

Barney’s Farm mentions sweet berry and creamy notes; its spec table gives the taste as sweet, earthy and citrus and the aroma as fresh, fruity and berry. Leafly calls the terpene profile smooth, earthy, citrus and fruity, says the strain tastes as good as it smells, and tags the flavour blueberry, berry and mint. Leafly’s write-up names DJ Short’s old-school Blueberry in the cross, along with GSC and Sherbert.

Two Leafly reviewers add their own notes: one, in February 2024, singled out the blueberry flavour, and another, in March 2024, found a fruity, floral smell but a diesel taste.

Leafly’s numbers for Blue Gelato are roughly 17% THC and 0% CBD, and it rates the strain above the typical one for THC; AllBud puts the average at 25 to 29%, and Barney’s Farm lists 28%.

Badder counts as an extract, the class of product Health Canada calls high in THC and asks first-time and occasional users to skip. Once cannabis is inhaled, it explains, the effects show inside seconds to minutes, and their peak can be up to 30 minutes away.
