Hindu Kush

Pakistan and Afghanistan share the Hindu Kush range, and Leafly names that range as the home of the strain behind this flower. Both Leafly and AllBud label it a pure indica.

A range about 500 miles long

Hash makers around the world prize the strain’s heavy coat of crystal trichomes, Leafly says, a result of the harsh climate where it comes from. The range itself runs about 500 miles. Hindi Kush is Leafly’s other spelling, and OG Kush and Purple Kush are the children it names.

Sandalwood, pine and a skunky edge

Leafly’s description of the aroma is subtle, sweet and earthy sandalwood. The flavour tags there are earthy, woody and spicy/herbal, and the terpene ranking starts with limonene before caryophyllene and pinene; our limonene explainer covers the leader. A few reviewers on Leafly add lemon or citrus, a skunky or cheesy smell and earthy, pine-like smoke.

On AllBud the flavour is skunky and earthy, closing with a touch of fresh woods after a sweet, flowery exhale, and the smell is strong and fragrant, floral, with fresh herbs and spicy pine as accents. Our strain page pairs earthy sandalwood with a hash-like spice.

Heart-shaped buds with amber crystals

Bright forest green, oversized and heart-shaped is how AllBud pictures the buds, with bright orange hairs under a coat of amber crystal trichomes. A home grower writing on Leafly found the plant short, branchy and bushy, easy to look after, fond of heat and very sticky once cured for a long time. Leafly’s grow notes call it suitable for indoors or for warmer outdoor climates below 42 degrees N latitude.

Potency numbers and how the high is described

Potency first: Leafly shows 19% THC and 1% CBG with a gauge above its norm, AllBud’s range climbs from 22% to 32%, and our own strain page gives a typical 18% to 25%.

Relaxed and hungry top the feelings Leafly reviewers name. On AllBud the high is described as classic indica and long-lasting; it comes on subtly and gradually, spreading through mind and body first, after which the head feel turns euphoric and hazy. Effect tags: euphoria, happy, hungry, relaxing.
