OG Shark

Both strain sites tie OG Shark to Canada. Leafly calls it a rare hybrid found mostly there, valued for strong potency and an earthy aroma, and AllBud calls it a potent favourite that originated in Canada. Leafly also spells it Shark OG, and this flower uses the OG-first form.

Popular in four provinces

AllBud says OG Shark is most popular in Ontario, British Columbia, Alberta and Nova Scotia. On AllBud the strain is indica-dominant, 70/30 indica to sativa, and the smell and taste hint at possible descent from OG Kush and Great White Shark. One AllBud reviewer names Great White Shark and OG Kush as the cross, and another says OG Kush has to be in it. Blueberry, diesel and earth

AllBud describes a pungent, earthy smell with blueberry and diesel notes, and its flavour tags are berry, diesel, pine and sweet. Its reviewers describe a bold blueberry-diesel taste, a spicy, piney diesel taste and a sweet, mellow, earthy one; another never tasted blueberry but did get diesel.

Leafly’s flavour tags are earthy, chemical and woody, and one of its reviewers mentions an earthy taste.

Frosty buds, and notes from the grow side

One AllBud reviewer describes dark, dense, frosty buds, another purple hues on the buds, and a third buds covered in sparkling crystals. The grow notes on Leafly want a dry outdoor climate and a large plant rather than one confined to pots. Leafly’s notes also sort the strain into four phenotypes: three usually lean sativa and the fourth shows more indica-like traits.

THC, effects and a slow start

AllBud shows THC at 27% to 30% and calls very high THC the strain’s main selling point, with top readings above 27%. Health Canada‘s own starting point for smoking is far gentler: a first go of one or two puffs, with the THC at 10% or lower.

On Leafly the top reviewer tags are relaxed, happy and uplifted, with giggly, euphoric, focused, creative, energetic and hungry also in the mix. AllBud describes a mostly cerebral high with happy euphoria, relaxation and creativity; its effect tags read creative, euphoria, happy, relaxing. One of its reviewers describes a slow creeper that builds from behind the eyes to the top of the head; another, a long-lasting high that does not leave them couch-locked. Ratings stand at 4.5 from 146 on Leafly and 4.8 from 12 votes on AllBud.
