Indica
IndicaThis flower takes its name from Chocolope, which Leafly describes as a cross of Chocolate Thai and Cannalope Haze and which our own Chocolope guide credits to DNA Genetics.
A tribute to the chocolate strains of the 1980s
Leafly calls the cross a tribute to the popular chocolate strains of the 1980s and lists D-Line as another name. Our guide says the strain was originally called D-Line, and that the breeder reports more than 10 awards, among them the 2007 Strain of the Year from High Times. Leafly’s genetics tree shows White Chocolate and White Choco as its children.
Leafly’s category is sativa, and AllBud‘s entry reads sativa-dominant hybrid, 95% sativa and 5% indica.
Coffee, cocoa and a hint of cantaloupe
Leafly describes hefty buds with earthy, sweet coffee flavours, and tags the flavour coffee, nutty and chestnut. One of its reviewers reports a smell of chocolate, coffee, spice and fruit with a cantaloupe-like taste, and another notes green and purple buds with a glittery coat.
AllBud tags chocolate, coffee, sweet and vanilla flavours and chocolate, coffee, earthy, pungent and sweet aromas. Its text describes a smoky, chocolaty flavour and a sweet aroma, and one reviewer reports a roasted cocoa aroma and flavour from dense, frosty buds that smell and taste like chocolate-dipped melon.
Steven De Guzman’s tasting note in our Chocolope guide: both parents show, with coffee and nutty notes from Chocolate Thai at the front and a cantaloupe note which a Leafly reviewer attributes to Cannalope Haze. His suggestion is to taste it next to black coffee and a few cubes of cantaloupe.
Terpinolene comes first
Leafly’s terpene data puts terpinolene (fruity) first, followed by myrcene and ocimene. More on that terpene is in our terpinolene guide.
THC and reported effects
On Leafly the THC reading is about 22%, with 3% CBG and a potency gauge above the site norm. AllBud gives 18% to 21%, describing a high concentration of THC.
Leafly describes a dreamy, cerebral effect with a strong euphoric mental shift. Energetic, uplifted and focused lead its reviewers’ tags, followed by creative, happy, relaxed, euphoric, tingly, giggly and talkative. AllBud’s users tag creative, euphoria and happy, and its text says smokers call the experience euphoric and suited to parties.
