Dutch Treat

Dutch Treat is said to originate in Amsterdam, per Leafly, and the flower here takes its name from that strain. Leafly’s type for it is hybrid, from Northern Lights crossed with Haze. AllBud tags it as an indica dominant hybrid, puts the split at 80% indica to 20% sativa and describes a descendant of Northern Lights, Skunk and Haze.

Eucalyptus over sweet fruit and pine

Leafly describes a smell of sweet fruit mixed with pine and eucalyptus, and its flavour tags are pine, sweet and earthy. Reviewers there mention fruity-earthy, piney and citrus-pastry notes. AllBud says the strain smells of eucalyptus and tastes sweet, earthy and piney; its flavour tags are fruity, pine, sweet and woody, and its aroma tags are blueberry, fruity, pine and sweet.

The citrus-pastry comment is behind a pairing tip from Steven De Guzman in our Dutch Treat guide: one reviewer likens the flavour to lemon custard, so he suggests a lemon tart alongside.

A lab terpene order led by terpinolene

Terpinolene, which Leafly tags as fruity, tops the lab-sourced terpene data it carries, with myrcene and then ocimene. Our terpinolene guide describes that piney, floral terpene.

Dense, sticky buds and a 63 to 72 day flowering time

Growers quoted by Leafly describe dense, sticky, pungent buds, and give the flowering time as 63 to 72 days. An AllBud reviewer describes fluffy, crystal-coated nugs with a sweet, dense smoke.

A head rush, then a heavy body

Leafly describes cerebral effects that leave people uplifted and euphoric, its reviewers tag euphoric, relaxed and uplifted, and its sliders read mostly energizing, with potency above average. On AllBud, a near-instant head rush gives way to a deep, heavy body high; the head high is described as intensely euphoric and upbeat, and the body high as deeply relaxed. Relaxing, creative, happy and euphoria are its tags.

THC is 19% on Leafly, with CBG at 1%, and 18% to 25% on AllBud. Health Canada‘s smoking and vaping guidance sets the opening dose at one or two puffs, from a product that has 10% THC or less, so both ranges call for a slow start.
