Grape and spice turn up in both Leafly‘s and AllBud‘s accounts of Rockstar, the strain behind this Gas Station shatter. The shatter itself is a translucent, glassy concentrate that snaps when cold, mainly dabbed, or else crumbled over flower.

Leafly describes the smell as sweet grapes with spicy undertones, and its reviewers mention a very aromatic, grape-candy scent. AllBud’s version is earthy and spicy, with grape notes and a touch of skunky, pungent herbs, and it likens the taste to spiced mulled wine that ends on a pungent, faintly skunky exhale. One Leafly reviewer adds berry, chemical and zesty flavours; another picks up a skunky smell with fruity pear and plum tones.

Dense, spade-shaped buds with purple undertones

AllBud pictures the strain’s flower as mid-sized, dense, lumpy and spade-shaped: dark olive green over deep purple undertones, with fiery orange hairs and frosty purple leaves coated in trichomes. A Leafly reviewer describes dense, frosty buds tinged lime green, with thick smoke. One AllBud reviewer calls Rockstar a classic indica popular in Canada, with an earthy taste and a strong skunk smell.

A head rush first, then the body buzz

By AllBud’s account, a few minutes after smoking comes a cerebral head rush that leaves people uplifted, very happy and motivated; a creeping body buzz follows and can end in couch-lock. Gas Station’s Rockstar falls under what Health Canada calls high-THC extracts, a group in which it names shatter, hash, kief and wax, and the agency’s advice for first-timers and occasional consumers is to avoid that group.
