IndicaLabelled indica and LSO, this Pine Tar flower was grown in living soil; LSO is short for living soil organic. Our LSO explainer covers that growing method.
Named for a woody flavour and a sticky feel
AllBud, which calls the strain Pine Tar Kush, says the name comes from its very woody flavour and extremely sticky feel. AllBud’s picture of the buds: small, leafy and very round, bright neon green, with sparse thin orange hairs, frosty gold trichomes and a coat of sticky resin that almost drips. Leafly also mentions bright green hues, and an October 2018 reviewer there noticed how resinous and sticky the buds were when pulled apart.
Skunky-sweet on the nose, earthy pine on the tongue
AllBud describes the aroma as tangy and skunky-sweet with hints of kushy citrus and pine. The taste, in AllBud’s words, is pungent, earthy pine with a hint of woody citrus that turns spicy on the exhale and grows stronger the longer the smoking goes on. Leafly tags the flavour tar, pine, woody and sweet, and an August 2026 reviewer there tasted pine, earth and malt. One AllBud reviewer in March 2019 said their batch carried no pine at all, describing almost yellowish-green, extremely resinous buds, a savoury-sweet hash and tobacco aroma and a mildly sweet smoke that burned to white ash.
Myrcene first, then a head-and-neck buzz
Leafly’s lab-sourced terpene figures for Pine Tar run myrcene, caryophyllene, limonene, in that order, and limonene, the third, gets a full explanation in our limonene guide. AllBud describes a high that opens euphoric, happy and uplifting, with a little focus, before a buzz at the back of the head and neck spreads relaxation through the body, and it adds that the body buzz brings on a ravenous hunger. On Leafly, hungry, relaxed and talkative are the effects reviewers report most.
THC by strain, and Health Canada’s first-puff numbers
Leafly’s strain page shows 23% THC, above average on its potency gauge, and AllBud gives an average of 18% to 22%. For comparison, Health Canada’s starting point is a product at 10% THC or under, taken as 1 or 2 puffs; smoked, it registers within seconds to minutes, and its peak may need as long as 30 minutes. After a Pine Tar session, the agency’s lower-risk guidelines say to let 6 or more hours pass before getting behind the wheel.
