What is Blue Lobster?
Blue Lobster is a hybrid cross of Apples and Bananas and Eye Candy. Leafly credits Cipher Genetics with breeding the original cross and Maine Trees with hunting, naming and popularizing it, opening its description with a nod to Maine's lobster. Weedmaps credits the breeding to Chris Lynch, known for his work with Compound Genetics and Cipher Genetics. A few databases list Blueberry x OG Kush as the parents instead, but Weedmaps says those listings conflict with the established pairing.
Leafly and Weedmaps both report that Blue Lobster won Gassiest and Best Terps at the 2023 East Coast Zalympix and placed second overall. Leafly also made it a nominee for Strain of the Year 2025. Leafly and Weedmaps class it as a hybrid, while AllBud calls it slightly indica-dominant, at 60% indica.
Look, smell and taste
Leafly describes deep green buds tinged with dark periwinkle under heavy frost. Weedmaps calls them mint green with deep purple accents, and AllBud describes dense, long, grape-shaped buds with thin orange hairs.
Blueberry candy and grape lead the aroma, according to Leafly, with plum, apple and some citrus behind them.
