Weedmaps says Top Dawg Seeds crossed Chemdawg 4 with Tres Dawg to make Stardawg, and Leafly and AllBud list the same parents. Leafly says the name is believed to come from the sparkling trichomes that blanket the buds like stars. Leafly and Weedmaps class it as a hybrid; AllBud calls it indica-dominant, though its page gives both 70% and 60% indica.
Weedmaps notes that several named selections come from the same genetic pool, including Guava, Corey Haim, Illuminati and Kate Upton. Guava is the sweeter expression and Kate Upton is known for stronger purple colour, so the cut matters more than a single indica-to-sativa ratio.
