Animal Cookies, the strain behind this flower, is a cross of GSC and Fire OG, a pairing Leafly and AllBud both report. Leafly also records Animal Crackers as another name.

Clone-only, and leaning toward one parent or the other

Our Animal Cookies guide credits BC Bud Depot as the breeder. Growers get it from clones only, says Leafly, which also gives 9 to 10 weeks of flowering and notes that individual plants can resemble either parent. AllBud says breeders like it and that it is a very stable grow. Apple Fritter and Animal Mints are the descendants Leafly names.

On type, Leafly calls Animal Cookies a hybrid. AllBud calls it indica-dominant, 75% indica to 25% sativa.

Dark, cone-shaped buds tipped with purple

The buds on Leafly are dense and frosty green, their tips purple. One Leafly reviewer, writing about a Michigan batch, noted cone-shaped buds that were dense and sticky, with few orange hairs and a very dark look. AllBud describes dense, elongated buds in mint green, with dark leaves, amber pistils and a layer of white, purple-tinted trichomes.

Pepper and ginger, cinnamon and cream

Leafly gives the aroma as sweet and sour, and its flavour tags are nutty, earthy, sweet and pungent. One Leafly reviewer noticed pepper and ginger on the nose with graham, cinnamon and cream underneath. AllBud finds the smell earthy and pungent, with sweet herbal notes and a sour edge that gets stronger when the buds are broken up or burned, and the taste a cookie-like mix of sweet and nutty that finishes lightly spicy and pungent on the exhale.

Caryophyllene (peppery) leads the terpenes in Leafly’s data, ahead of limonene and myrcene. Steven De Guzman, who wrote the tip for our Animal Cookies guide, picks up a reviewer’s coffee-like aftertaste and suggests black coffee or roasted almonds alongside.

Heavy and full-bodied on Leafly

Leafly’s description gives Animal Cookies heavy full-body effects, and its reviewer tags are relaxed, tingly, happy and euphoric. AllBud says the effects arrive quickly with an uplifted rush and a happy, scattered euphoria, then a giggly, hazy phase and a relaxing body high.
