Heisenberg Badder Sour Diesel

Creamy, whipped and easy to scoop: that is badder, and this one from Heisenberg carries the Sour Diesel name. The style is also called budder.

Whipped soft, where shatter is glassy

Whipping is what separates badder from shatter, the see-through, glass-like extract that snaps in the cold. Badder stays creamy, close to cake batter, so it comes away in scoops instead of breaking into pieces. Wax is nearer in feel, soft and scoopable as well, though opaque and waxy rather than whipped. Diesel up front, lemon at the finish

Leafly keeps its Sour Diesel flavour tags to three: diesel, chemical and skunk. AllBud lists six, setting candy, citrus and sweet beside dank, diesel and skunky, and it notes a slight lemon aftertaste.

Light green buds and a Chemdawg cross

AllBud pictures Sour Diesel buds as dense and light green, with orange hairs. Leafly and Wikipedia both name Chemdawg and Super Skunk as the parents, and Wikipedia describes the parentage as mainly Cannabis sativa. AllBud puts the split at 90% sativa to 10% indica, and our Sour Diesel strain page gives the Chemdawg parent as Chemdawg 91.

Leafly records four phenotypes of the strain: three that usually show sativa influence and a fourth that is more indica-like. Two newer strains, Headband and Sour Apple, appear on Leafly as Sour Diesel offspring, and both Leafly and AllBud record Sour D and Sour Deez as nicknames.

Badder and the high-THC extract group

Badder counts as an extract, so the Health Canada warning on extracts covers it: wax, kief, shatter and hash are its named examples of high-THC products, and its lower-risk page tells first-time and occasional users to leave that whole group alone. Driving, under the lower-risk guidelines, should come no sooner than 6 hours after cannabis use.
