Cannabis distillate, a refined oil, comes in syringes under the Hooti Extracts name; on its About page Hooti says it is a Canadian brand based in British Columbia.
What Hooti says about the syringes
Hooti’s product page says the syringes are made only from premium flower using its extraction process, and that the distillate can be consumed by smoking or eating. The photos on that page are titled Strawberry Cough, Trainwreck and King Kush syringes.
On its home page Hooti says its distillate features naturally derived terpenes and flavonoids. The About page explains the idea: Hooti keeps those compounds and puts them back, so each extract keeps the taste and aroma of its strain.
Distillate, in a syringe rather than a cartridge
Distillate is refined cannabis oil, and it turns up in many vape cartridges and edibles. Hooti’s catalogue carries THC distillate syringes and THC distillate cartridges as two separate items. RSO, a thick, dark whole-plant oil that also tends to come in a syringe, is a different product; our RSO guide covers it, and our guide to distillate pens walks through how cannabis distillate is made and used.
Eating it versus smoking it
The liver handles eaten THC, which is why onset lags and the effect outlasts a smoked dose. Health Canada‘s numbers for edibles:
- Onset: 30 minutes to 2 hours
- Full effect: up to 4 hours
- THC in an edible: 2.5 mg or less
Health Canada counts hash, kief, wax and shatter among extracts high in THC, and its suggestion is that newcomers and occasional users stay away from them. On the road, its lower-risk use guidelines say at least 6 hours must pass after cannabis before driving. More oils and extracts are in our concentrates.
