NYC Diesel

Leafly credits NYC Diesel with five Cannabis Cup wins in the early 2000s and calls it a hybrid that leans to the sativa side. Leafly’s other names for it are New York Diesel, New York City Diesel and NYC Sour Diesel, and this flower uses the short form.

Mexican and Afghani landraces, or a Sour Diesel mother

Leafly says NYC Diesel was made by crossing Mexican and Afghani landraces. AllBud names a Sour Diesel mother and a father from an original Afghani or Hawaiian strain, says the mother supplies strong sativa genes, and sets the blend at 60% sativa to 40% indica. Strawberry Diesel and Sour Tsunami are the strains Leafly lists as bred from it.

Lime, grapefruit and a fuel edge

Grapefruit, diesel and chemical are Leafly’s flavour tags. It links a pungent lime-and-grapefruit aroma with top-quality batches, and one of its reviewers describes tight white nugs smelling of citrusy grapefruit and diesel. AllBud’s flavour tags are citrus, diesel, grapefruit, lime and sweet, and it describes a strong, pungent fuel taste with extra chemical notes.

Terpenes, THC and what reviewers report

Myrcene leads Leafly’s terpene list, with caryophyllene and pinene after it. THC reads about 20% on Leafly and 18% to 21% on AllBud, which adds that it can exceed 21%.

Leafly says the effects open with a strong head rush that gradually spreads into the rest of the body. Reviewer tags there run talkative, uplifted and energetic. AllBud describes a peppy, energetic cerebral high with euphoria, a mood lift and a spark of creativity, suited to busy days and social occasions. Ratings stand at 4.2 from 1,004 on Leafly and 4.7 from 35 votes on AllBud.
