Sativa
IndicaPeach Cobbler comes as flower labelled sativa, weighed out in five sizes, and Leafly credits the strain behind the name to Humboldt Seed Company.
The name, the breeder and the parent strains
A grower feature on Humboldt Seed Company’s site tells where the name came from. The grower raised four genotypes of the company’s Stoopid Fruits, grown from clones its crew picked out during a pheno hunt, and one of them was named Peach Cobbler for an unusual citrus-peach nose with a dessert-like quality. Its sisters from that hunt were named Coconut Ice Cream, Cherimoya and Durian. The grower reports that the Peach Cobbler cut tested at 28% THC in that crop, and calls it loud, a plant that drew a lot of attention.
Leafly gives the parents as Apricot Papaya, Strawberry Banana and Dream Queen, with Strawberry Banana and Dream Queen shown in its genetics section, and it calls Peach Cobbler a “unicorn” strain with an unusual terpene profile. Leafly lists it as a hybrid. AllBud gives the lineage as (Peach Kush x Sour Diesel x Romulan) x Monster Sauce and calls the strain rare and evenly balanced, splitting it 50/50 between indica and sativa.
Peach, vanilla and a touch of nuttiness
Leafly describes a peach scent and a creamy vanilla taste, and peach, apricot and vanilla are its flavour tags. In AllBud’s notes the flavour is very sweet, citrusy and fruity, with hints of juicy peach and herbs, and the aroma stays close to it while adding a little nuttiness. Diesel and sour also show up among AllBud’s flavour tags. Leafly’s terpene figures, drawn from lab tests, rank myrcene first, then caryophyllene and pinene.
AllBud pictures large, long, neon-green buds with fiery orange pistils, chunky golden-amber trichomes and a sticky, sweet coat of resin.
A tingle that starts at the neck
AllBud says the effects last a long time. The first sign, by its account, is a tingle across the back of the head and neck that lifts the mood and leaves users slightly relaxed; the tingle then spreads through the body into a calm, kicked-back state that does not drain energy. Creative, relaxing, tingly and uplifting are AllBud’s effect tags. Leafly rates the effects mostly calming, says the strain suits people who want to feel upbeat and creative, and lists relaxed, focused and euphoric as the effects its reviewers report most. Leafly’s 68 ratings average 4.4, and AllBud’s 31 votes come to 4.5.
Leafly’s THC figure for Peach Cobbler is about 23%, which it calls higher than average, alongside CBG of about 1%; AllBud’s range runs from 15% to 23%. With strain figures that high, Health Canada‘s lower-risk advice applies: its suggested first dose for smoking is a puff or two, taken from something at or below 10% THC, and it can be 30 minutes before the effect tops out.
