This three-pack holds shatter made by Phyto Extractions, a concentrate maker that says it got its start on the west coast of BC in 2014.

Phyto Extractions calls itself The Original and describes its team as BC-bred extractors. Its site groups the range into four families: concentrates (diamonds, shatter, sugar wax, cured resin and hash), vapes (510 carts and disposables), pre-rolls (infused, infused and coated, and whole flower) and flower (infused and dried).

THC across Phyto’s shatter line

On its shatter multipack page, Phyto lists THC at 77 to 85% and describes the shatter as full spectrum and high in THC. Lineage and flavour are both listed as rotating, so the strain changes from pack to pack, and Phyto pitches the multipack to dabbers as a variety pack.

Phyto also sells two shatters by the single gram. Phyre is full spectrum, with THC listed at 72.5 to 82.5% and a lineage and flavour that rotate. Ice Wreck, made in B.C., is listed at 78 to 84% THC, with a gassy, fruity and floral flavour and a rotating lineage.

Glassy, brittle and mostly dabbed

Health Canada on high-THC extracts

Health Canada puts shatter alongside wax, hash and kief as extracts high in THC and suggests that new or occasional users avoid them. For smoking or vaping in general, its lower-risk starting point is a product with 10% THC or less, far below the 72.5 to 85% range Phyto lists. Its lower-risk guidelines also say to wait at least 6 hours after using cannabis before driving.
