Purple Voodoo

An almost perfectly even split, 50% sativa and 50% indica, makes Purple Voodoo a rarity in AllBud‘s view, and Leafly likewise calls it a true hybrid. It is sold here as flower.

Three purple parents and California roots

AllBud traces Purple Voodoo to three Purps-family strains: Purple Cheese, Double Purple Doja and Purple Urkle. Leafly’s genetics box lists Purple Urkle and Double Purple Doja, and its description adds Purple Diesel. AllBud calls the strain a California native, and Leafly’s grow note says that since it was bred in California, it suits warm climates or indoor growing, and that the plant has a strong smell.

Dark blooms with purple and red

Leafly says the plants flower in 8 to 10 weeks into dark blooms with hints of purple and red, and AllBud says the purple genes carry down into dark purple and red flowers.

Grape, lavender and musk

Leafly describes a pungent, musky smell and taste with a grapey sweetness and tags the flavour lavender, sweet and pungent; one Leafly reviewer compares the smell to lavender candy with a little peppery spice. AllBud describes a sweet, pungent grape aroma and flavour, with flavour tags of berry, grape, spicy, sweet and woody. Leafly’s terpene ranking runs caryophyllene, then limonene, then humulene.

Balanced effects and THC from 7% to 16%

Leafly describes a balanced high, clear and relaxing at once, and places Purple Voodoo toward the energizing end of its effect scale. Its 99 Leafly ratings average 4.3, and the effects reviewers there mention most are tingly, relaxed and euphoric. AllBud writes of a clear-headed, relaxed high with some creativity, a burst of euphoria and happiness.

Leafly’s figures for the strain are 16% THC and 0% CBD. AllBud says THC varies from batch to batch, from as low as 7% to at least 16% in some tests, and calls CBD scarce, well under 1%. Health Canada‘s lower-risk advice starts a first smoke at 1 or 2 puffs, using cannabis no stronger than 10% THC.
