Champagne Kush Strain: Lineage, Effects and Flavour

Leafly lists Champagne Kush, also called Champagne, as a hybrid bred from Hash Plant and Hindu Kush and says its breeder is unknown. AllBud gives the same parents and calls it an even 50/50 indica and sativa blend. Leafly lists Champagne Diesel and Blue Champagne as offspring. The history is less settled. Weedmaps notes that some sources call it a Super Silver Haze x Pot of Gold cross, while others describe a Hash Plant and Kush cross pollinated by a Burmese male. SeedFinder lists feminized seeds of the Super Silver Haze version from Seedism Seeds, bred from a fast-flowering Super Silver Haze cut called Champagne Haze and Pot of Gold, so flower sold under the name may come from either line.

AllBud describes bright green buds with long orange hairs and a light frosting of crystals, and says the name comes from a champagne-like aroma and flavour with notes of sweetness, flowers and soil. Leafly reviewers pick pear, lavender and tea as the top flavours. Weedmaps describes a caramel and citrus aroma with an earthy, sweet taste, close to Seedism's own note of earthy Kush with hints of caramel and citrus oil.

Leafly's reviewers (more than 200 ratings) most often report feeling euphoric, happy and talkative, and Leafly rates the effects as mostly energizing. AllBud describes a balanced high with a euphoric, tingling body buzz and more sociability. SeedFinder users tag Seedism's version as uplifting, calming and couch-locking, so the experience may depend on the line.

The downsides Leafly users mention most are dry eyes, dry mouth and dizziness; AllBud adds that headaches and paranoia are possible. Start with a small amount, and follow Health Canada's lower-risk guidelines, which say not to drive for at least 6 hours after using cannabis.

Published numbers are modest but inconsistent. Leafly lists 14% THC and 0% CBD, AllBud's write-up says available tests show no more than 15% THC and under 1% CBD (although its own header shows 26% THC), and Weedmaps cites a single lab sample under 17% THC. THC varies by grower and batch, so check the label on the product you buy.
