What Tropic Thunder is
Leafly lists Tropic Thunder as a hybrid and calls it a mysterious Maui Wowie cross with colourful buds and floral aromas, without naming a breeder. SeedFinder files that version under Unknown or Legendary.
In Canada, Organigram has sold Tropic Thunder under SHRED, its brand of pre-milled flower, including as pre-rolls. Its 2021 launch announcement for the pre-rolls described SHRED's Tropic Thunder as a combination of strains with citrus and tropical aromas and THC of 18% or more.
A third, unrelated Tropic Thunder came from the breeder Hash Hands: a pure sativa landrace cross of Northern Vietnamese, Ciskei and Congolese plants with a 90-day flowering time, now discontinued, according to SeedFinder. Look, smell and taste
Organigram's announcement describes citrus and tropical aromas for SHRED's version. Leafly's reviewers pick tropical, mango and pineapple as the top flavours, though Leafly's write-up says the floral aroma turns bitter and herbaceous once it is smoked or vaped. Effects people report
Leafly's reviewers most often report feeling energetic, focused and giggly, and Leafly rates the strain as mostly energizing. The negatives they mention most are dry mouth, headache and dry eyes.
Health Canada's health effects page warns that cannabis can impair your ability to remember, concentrate and react quickly, and can cause sleepiness and anxiety, fear or panic.
