IndicaLeafly credits Dungeons Vault Genetics with breeding Candy Paint, which comes as flower in five weights topping out at 28 g.
Brandywine crossed with Hot Rod
Leafly lists the parents as Brandywine and Hot Rod and describes the cross as a hybrid split evenly, 50% sativa and 50% indica. Leafly also calls the strain rare and exotic, with a candy-like flavour, and suggests it for experienced consumers. An even split like this is explained in our guide to strain type labels.
White hairs, gas and menthol
Leafly describes striking buds wrapped in tens of thousands of tiny white hairs, a coat it calls a “micro-trichomesphere” around the whole flower. The smell, by Leafly’s account, is like a gassy OG with light menthol and candy undertones, even though no OG appears anywhere in the lineage. One Leafly reviewer says it smells like candy and tastes very good.
Leafly’s write-up names fruity, sweet and citrus flavours, and its flavour panel shows diesel, berry and sweet. The same write-up names caryophyllene, which Leafly links to a fuel aroma, as the dominant terpene, while Leafly’s lab-sourced terpene panel lists myrcene first, then ocimene and pinene.
Mostly energizing, by Leafly’s gauge
Leafly places the strain toward the energizing end of its effect gauge, and the effects its panel ranks highest are uplifted, energetic and creative; its write-up adds that customers report feeling happy, relaxed and euphoric. One Leafly reviewer who expected a sativa-leaning hybrid says that is what it turned out to be. Leafly gives the strain 17% THC and 1% CBG, scores its potency above average, and shows an average of 4.8 across 11 ratings.
Health Canada‘s lower-risk advice has newer consumers start with a puff or two of flower holding 10% THC or less, then give smoked effects as long as 30 minutes to crest. Getting behind the wheel has to wait 6 hours or longer under the agency’s lower-risk guidelines.
