Kosher Kush

Kosher Kush started out in Los Angeles as a cut that circulated only as clones, and Leafly now names DNA Genetics as the source of its seeds. Leafly lists the strain as a popular indica, also called Kosher OG, and this flower carries the name.

From Jewish Gold to Kosher Kush

DNA Genetics says the strain was first called Jewish Gold and was renamed as its popularity grew. The company says its breeders backcrossed the line and kept only the best phenotypes for consistency, and it adds that some experts believe OG Kush was one of the original parents.

Leafly’s genetics section lists OG Kush as the parent and 24k Gold and Brownie Scout as children. Leafly credits the strain with High Times Cannabis Cup wins: Best Indica in 2010 and 2011, and Best Strain in 2011. Dense, sticky buds with an earth and fruit nose

DNA Genetics describes dense, stinky buds with orange hairs and a glistening, sugary coat of trichomes, a look it compares to White Widow. AllBud reviewers mention very sticky buds and kush, skunky, peppery, earthy or citrus aromas. Leafly calls it one of the strongest-smelling members of the OG Kush family, with a rich-earth and fruit smell that many consider among the tastiest.

On flavour, Leafly’s tags are earthy, pungent and woody, and AllBud’s are herbal, lemon, pine, sweet and woody. Leafly reviewers settle most often on relaxed and hungry, and its write-up describes a pronounced, heavy relaxation. AllBud users tag euphoria, happy, hungry and relaxing. DNA Genetics describes an uplifting, cheerful start with a creative buzz and talkative, social reactions, settling into a relaxing full-body stone.

THC figures against Health Canada’s starting point

THC reads 21% on Leafly alongside 1% CBG, a potency the site ranks above average. AllBud shows 22% to 25%, and DNA Genetics cites around 22%. For newcomers, Health Canada‘s lower-risk advice caps strength at 10% THC and starts with a puff or two, and the lowest figure above is more than double that cap. Leafly rates the strain 4.5 from 1,082 ratings, and AllBud gives it 4.7 from 86 votes.
