Lemon Kush

Both Leafly and AllBud list Lemon Kush as a hybrid, and AllBud’s split is half sativa, half indica. This flower is named for that strain, which Leafly also lists as Cali Lemon Kush, with sweet lemon and citrus flavours over earthy kush undertones.

Master Kush and Lemon Joy, or Afghani Kush and Lemon G

Leafly says the general consensus is a cross of Master Kush and Lemon Joy, and adds that breeder-specific versions exist. Alien Genetics describes its own Lemon Kush as a cross of Lemon G, a prized Ohio strain, and an Afghan Kush.

Leafly’s genetics panel lists Master Kush and Afghani as parents, with Cherry Poppers and Lemon Jack as children. AllBud gives the parentage as Afghani Kush crossed with Lemon G.

Light green buds in white frosting

Leafly describes light green buds covered in a white frosting of trichomes, and one reviewer mentions a special citrus scent and soft, tight buds. AllBud describes light green buds under the same white frosting.

A limonene-led lemon taste

AllBud credits the distinctly lemony taste to a high limonene content, a terpene we profile in our limonene guide. Earthy, herbal, kush, lemon and sweet are its aroma tags, and the flavours it tags are citrus, lemon, spicy and sweet.

Lemon, citrus and lime make up Leafly’s flavour tags. Its terpene data ranks myrcene (herbal) first, then pinene and caryophyllene.

Uplifting and creative, by report

Uplifting and creative effects are what Leafly describes, and happy, giggly and uplifted are the tags its reviewers pick most. Its effects gauge leans energizing. AllBud calls the strain known mainly for intense flavours, with creative and uplifting effects, and the effects its users tag are creative, euphoria, happy, relaxing and uplifting.
