Heisenberg THC Diamond Sour Diesel

Wikipedia names Sour Diesel as a favourite strain of rapper Wiz Khalifa, and Heisenberg uses the name for these THC diamonds, crystals of THCA that turn into THC only when heated.

What heat does to the crystals

The diamonds form as an extract separates, leaving THCA behind in solid crystal form. THCA becomes THC when it is heated, so a product sold as THC diamonds is a THCA concentrate until heat is applied. Our THC diamonds guide explains the crystals and the way they are produced.

How reviewers describe the Sour Diesel high

On Leafly, the three feelings reviewers name most for Sour Diesel are energetic, uplifted and talkative. Leafly’s own write-up calls the effects dreamy, cerebral, fast-acting and energizing, and its scale rates them as mostly energizing.

AllBud describes the high as cerebral and stimulating, felt more in the head than as a heavy body feeling, and tags its effects as creative, happy and uplifting, plus euphoria. AllBud also says many people choose the strain for the start of the day, and our Sour Diesel strain page calls it a daytime classic.

A name in music and on TV

According to Wikipedia, the name inspired two Doap Nixon album titles, Sour Diesel and Sour Diesel II, plus a Dame Grease single. Zayn Malik gave the same title to a track on Icarus Falls, his 2018 album, and the strain turns up in an episode of Broad City (season 3, episode 4).

Caution with crystal THCA

Sour Diesel diamonds are separated from an extract, and on the Health Canada lower-risk page, extracts land in the high-THC group, with kief, hash, shatter and wax named; people who are new to cannabis, or occasional users, are advised to avoid them. For inhaled cannabis in general, Health Canada says effects take hold within seconds to minutes and the high can reach its strongest point up to 30 minutes later. The agency’s lower-risk guidelines put driving off for a full 6 hours or more after any cannabis.
