Motorbreath

The name Motorbreath is a description: Leafly says the strain was named after its excessively gassy flavour and smell. Leafly also spells it Motor Breath, and this flower is labelled with the one-word form.

Pisces Genetics, Chem D and SFV OG Kush

Our Motorbreath guide says Pisces Genetics bred the strain from Chemdog D and SFV OG Kush, and that it is often sold as Motorbreath #15. Leafly says it crosses Chemdog and SFV OG Kush and calls it a hybrid. AllBud writes the first parent as Chem D, lists Motorbreath #2 as another name, and gives a 70% indica, 30% sativa split. Gator Breath and Oil Tanker are the descendants Leafly lists.

A wall of fuel, then citrus and earth

Chemical, diesel and pepper are Leafly’s flavour tags, and it describes smoke with notes of fuel, earth and citrus. Its reviewers report a heavy gas and diesel funk in both smell and taste. AllBud calls the strain infamous for an intensely diesel flavour with sharp citrus and earth on the exhale. Its aroma opens with a heavy diesel-chemical overtone that turns earthy and lemony as the buds burn.

In our Motorbreath guide, Steven De Guzman suggests giving the jar a few sniffs. A Westword reviewer smelled pine and rubber at first and only later picked up vanilla, cheese and soil, and the breeder adds meaty, lemon and garlic to its own list of notes.

Spade-shaped nuggets with an amber frost

AllBud describes spade-shaped, minty green nuggets with long thin orange hairs and a very frosty coat of tiny amber trichomes.

Limonene first, and the effects people report

Limonene tops the terpene breakdown on Leafly, with caryophyllene second and myrcene third; our limonene guide covers that citrus terpene. On Leafly the THC reads about 26% with 1% CBG, and AllBud’s average is 28%.

Reviewers on Leafly most often tag relaxed, euphoric and tingly. AllBud’s effect list reads body high, euphoria, hungry, relaxing and tingly, and its write-up describes a lifted relaxation and warm, tingly euphoria that give way to a numbing body high.

For strains in this THC range, Health Canada‘s advice for a first try at smoking or vaping is small: a first go of 1 or 2 puffs, using something at or below 10% THC, then a pause, since the peak of inhaled effects can be as much as half an hour away.
