This is a 1 g THC distillate vape cartridge from Hooti Extracts, a brand that describes itself as Canadian and based in British Columbia. On Hooti’s product page it is called THC Distillate Cartridges, the one cart in the brand’s Vaporizers range.

Distillate with the strain terpenes put back

Hooti fills each cart with its own blend of THC distillate, then adds strain-specific terpenes back in. Distillate, a refined cannabis oil, turns up in many vape carts and edibles. Hooti’s About page explains the idea: naturally derived terpenes and flavonoids are kept and returned to the extract so it carries the taste and aroma of its strain.

Hooti’s site offers the cartridge in ten strains: Death Bubba, Green Crack, God’s Green Crack, Sour Tangie, Trainwreck, Wedding Cake, King Kush, Purple Kush, Afghan Kush and Hawaiian Cookies.

Priming the cart, and Hooti’s own battery

Hooti asks for a new cartridge to be primed so the first hits do not taste burnt or off: 5 long pulls of 5 seconds each, without pressing the power button.

Hooti’s Vaporizers range also has a 510-thread battery of its own, with 650 mAh, voltage adjustable from 2.6 V to 4.8 V, an OLED screen and a preheat that starts with two clicks of the fire button. Hooti says the battery recharges through an included USB charger, comes in black, white, pink or purple, and has room to stow a 510 cartridge inside its body. Closed-loop extraction and the wider Hooti range

Hooti says it uses closed-loop and live resin extraction. Beyond this cartridge, the Hooti catalogue lists fresh frozen hash rosin, live hash resin, THC distillate syringes, shatter, sauce, crumble, live resin, live diamonds hashish, tinctures and capsules.

First puffs from a distillate cart

Health Canada keeps its suggested opener small: 1 or 2 puffs, ideally from something whose THC tops out at 10%. Vaped cannabis makes itself felt within seconds to minutes, Health Canada adds, while a cart’s full effect may need up to 30 minutes to arrive. Its lower-risk use guidelines also ask that nobody drive until at least 6 hours after using cannabis.
