Small, dense and rounded, forest green with dark orange hairs and a thick, frosty coat of bright amber trichomes: that is how AllBud pictures the buds of Animal Crackers, the strain this Animal Cracker flower is named after.

Purple tips and very dark buds in reviews

An AllBud reviewer writing in August 2018 saw very dense buds covered in trichomes, with orange hairs and light and dark green tones lightly mixed with purple. Leafly counts Animal Crackers as another name for Animal Cookies, and its grow notes describe dense, frosty green buds tipped with purple. A Michigan reviewer on Leafly, in October 2024, found sticky, cone-shaped buds with sparse orange hairs and a very dark look.

Pepper, vanilla and pine

Leafly describes a peppery terpene profile, based on tested products, with caryophyllene first, then limonene and myrcene; for the second of those, see our guide to limonene. AllBud’s aroma notes are earthy and herbal with a spicy vanilla edge, and it says fresh, sweet pine comes through as the buds burn. Its flavour description is rich, nutty and woody, finishing on a lightly spicy, sweet vanilla exhale that stays on the tongue.

Lineage, as AllBud and Leafly give it

AllBud says Animal Crackers should not be confused with Animal Cookies, lists it as a cross of Animal Cookies and The White, and gives its make-up as 80% indica, 20% sativa. The high as AllBud describes it

In AllBud’s description the high lasts a long time: cerebral effects and a happy, hazy euphoria come first, then a tingly body high builds into a heavy, stoney state. Relaxed and tingly top the effects Leafly lists, and its gauge reads mostly calming. AllBud gives THC of 25%, or 22% to 25% on average, and Leafly’s figure for Animal Cookies is about 19%.
