Indica
IndicaApple Fritter is listed as a sativa flower in a pair of sizes, 14 g and 28 g. Its namesake strain is a true hybrid in Leafly‘s terms, while AllBud splits it down the middle, 50/50 sativa to indica, and calls it a rare hybrid.
Lumpy’s Flowers, Sour Apple and Animal Cookies
On Leafly the release is credited to Lumpy’s Flowers and the parentage given, reportedly, as Sour Apple and Animal Cookies; AllBud’s parents are the same. According to our Apple Fritter guide, that breeder is based in Northern California. Apple Tartz and Grapple Pie are listed as offspring on Leafly, whose description pairs a GSC-type stone with energy it likens to diesel.
Dark olive buds, purple underneath
AllBud’s picture is of spade-shaped buds, dark olive green and purple underneath, with bright orange hairs and small white trichomes dusted over the top. One Leafly reviewer describes dark green nugs, heavily frosted, with near-purple patches and orange hairs.
Baked apple, vanilla and a little gas
AllBud’s flavour is very sweet and fruity, apple first, with a lightly cakey vanilla finish on the exhale, like a fresh-baked fritter; the aroma runs the same way with an herbal edge. Leafly’s smell and flavour: sweet, earthy and, as it puts it, with a suggestion of cheesy apple pastry; its tags are apple, butter and cheese.
A Leafly reviewer reports an earthy, sweet, floral nose with some gas that changes to pepper and a berry undertone after grinding, and another was reminded of apples and oranges. Steven De Guzman, whose tip appears in our guide, suggests smelling the buds whole and then again once ground, and watching for the cakey vanilla finish on the exhale.
Terpenes and the grow
Leafly’s terpene ranking begins with caryophyllene and continues with limonene, then pinene. As a grow, Leafly calls it moderately difficult: a medium yield, plants of average height (more so in soil) and 8 to 9 weeks in flower.
Apple Fritter’s THC on AllBud and Leafly, and a High Times list
Both THC figures are strain-wide: 24% on Leafly (CBD 0%, potency above average) and an average of 22% to 28% on AllBud. AllBud’s headline for the strain is that it made High Times’ 2016 ‘World’s Strongest Strains’ list.
Leafly’s reviewers lead with tingly, relaxed and giggly, and the effect gauge there reads mostly relaxing. On AllBud the high begins nearly with the first exhale, a rush in the head, and a tingly body feel follows; its tags are euphoria, happy, hungry, relaxing, tingly and uplifting. Reviewers rate it 4.5 from 768 on Leafly, while AllBud’s tally is 4.6 across 138 votes plus 62 written reviews.
