The breeder Leafly names for Gastro Pop is Compound Genetics, and this hybrid flower takes its name from that strain. The weights go from 1 g up to 28 g. As Leafly tells it, the strain is a modern cross of Apples & Bananas with Grape Gas.

Leafly’s genetics box labels the second parent Grape Gasoline, while AllBud writes the two parents as Apples + Bananas and Grape Gas. AllBud’s label for the strain is indica-dominant hybrid, put at 70% indica and 30% sativa, and it says the strain is also known as GastroPop.

Leafly says Compound Genetics regards Grape Gas as one of its “royal families” for making crosses, and that Grape Gas also sits behind Pink Certz and Glitter Bomb, among others. It adds that Gastro Pop comes in numbered phenotypes, naming #5 and #28 as top phenos, and its genetics box lists Facetz and Violet Sky as children of Gastro Pop.

Sugary grape, tangy apple and diesel

Leafly gives the aroma as spicy and sugary with grape and a “purple fizzy” note. Apple, pepper and grape are its flavour tags. AllBud describes a very sweet, sugary berry-grape taste with hints of sour citrus and fresh tree fruit. On the nose, AllBud finds sweet berry-grape on top, accented by sour citrus, tangy apple and rich spicy diesel.

AllBud describes the buds as small and grape-shaped, emerald green with deep purple undertones, thin orange hairs and tiny bright white trichomes.

Leafly’s Certified Strain Science panel lists caryophyllene, tagged pepper, as the dominant terpene, with limonene and myrcene behind it. Leafly’s potency bar reads higher than average at 26% THC and 1% CBG, and AllBud calls the strain very potent, with average THC of 27% to 29%.

Leafly’s top reported effects are relaxed and hungry, and its reviewers also tag happy, euphoric, uplifted, creative, energetic, focused and tingly. AllBud describes feeling lifted, happy, euphoric and outgoing, followed by strong hunger.
