Heisenberg Terp Sauce Blue Gelato

Pinene heads the terpene list Leafly gives for Blue Gelato, and this Heisenberg terp sauce, a runny extract known for keeping a lot of terpenes, carries the strain’s name.

Pinene, caryophyllene and limonene

After pinene, Leafly lists caryophyllene and then limonene as the most abundant terpenes in Blue Gelato, and it describes the overall terpene profile as smooth, earthy, citrus and fruity. On AllBud, the aroma is tagged citrus, earthy, fruity, herbal, orange and sour.

Neon green buds with a blue cast

AllBud pictures the buds as fluffy, conical and neon green, with rich blue undertones, long orange hairs and blue-tinted white trichomes. Barney’s Farm says many phenotypes show blue or purple flowers covered in thick resin.

9 to 10 weeks indoors, mid-October outside

Indoors, Barney’s Farm says the plant flowers in 63 to 70 days, grows 110 to 150 cm tall and yields 700 to 800 g per square metre. Outdoors, it says, plants reach 150 to 200 cm, yield 2,500 to 3,000 g each and are harvested in the second or third week of October. One AllBud reviewer reported a small crop from a plant that needed a lot of attention and was prone to mildew.

Suspended crystals and Health Canada’s pacing

Alongside its terpenes, sauce like this often carries tiny THCA crystals, and heat is what turns THCA into THC; our guide to buying concentrates in Canada lists what to check before picking one. Leafly shows the strain at about 17% THC, AllBud at 25% and Barney’s Farm at 28%. Health Canada considers extracts high in THC and would have new and occasional users pass on them. For inhaling, its lower-risk starting point is a single puff or two, using something at or under 10% THC, with the full effect possibly half an hour away.
