Lamb’s Bread

Lamb’s Bread flower comes with a Bob Marley story: Leafly says the strain is thought to have been one of his favourites, and AllBud states that he loved it. Leafly gives Lamb’s Breath as another name, which AllBud spells Lamb’s Breathe.

Jamaican heritage and a 2015 DNA study

Leafly traces the plant back to Jamaica and lists Jamaican as its parent, and AllBud likewise credits it with Jamaican heritage. Leafly files Lamb’s Bread as a sativa, while AllBud’s figures make it a sativa-dominant hybrid at 95% sativa to 5% indica. Wool-like buds and a cheesy nose

Leafly compares its oddly shaped, pale green buds to balls of sheep’s wool, while AllBud describes golden green buds with red hairs and flashes of lime green inside. AllBud gives the aroma as cheese and grass, with a taste much the same. Leafly ties the pungent, cheesy aroma and sweet but spicy flavour to caryophyllene, and in its terpene data myrcene ranks first, followed by caryophyllene and limonene, which our limonene explainer describes as the citrus terpene. A Leafly reviewer in January 2025 placed the smell between cheese and diesel and found it smells stronger than it smokes. An energetic, daytime reputation

Energetic, focused and uplifted are the effects Leafly’s reviewers report most, and Leafly rates the strain mostly energizing on its gauge. AllBud calls the effect cerebral, says the uplift arrives right away with happiness, euphoria and strong creativity, and recommends Lamb’s Bread for daytime use. One Leafly reviewer in May 2024 described fluffy nugs, golden to light green, with a clean, crisp, old-school sativa smell and flavour.

THC figures and four phenotypes

On Leafly’s strain page THC comes in around 18%, which its potency gauge rates above average. AllBud puts Lamb’s Bread at 16% to 21% THC and says one or two hits can last for hours. Leafly’s grow notes say Lamb’s Bread needs a dry outdoor climate, does best when plants are grown large rather than kept in pots, and comes in four phenotypes, three leaning sativa and one more indica-like. Leafly shows 4.4 from 907 ratings, and AllBud 4.2 from 21 votes and 17 written reviews.
