Leafly describes Godfather OG as a potent indica bred from XXX OG and Alpha OG, and says it took first place for Best Indica at the 2013 Cannabis Cup in Los Angeles. Its other names on Leafly are Godfather, GFO, OG Godfather and The Don of All OGs, and its offspring include Godfather Purple Kush and 200HP. AllBud, which calls it the Don of Kush strains, traces it mainly to Bubba Kush, GDP (Granddaddy Purple) and L.A. Confidential, and AllBud’s split for it is 60% indica, 40% sativa.

Spice, grape and old leather

Leafly describes the flavour as spicy and kushy with a subtle grape undertone, tags it earthy, pungent and pine, and shows myrcene ahead of limonene and caryophyllene in its terpene data. AllBud says the smell and taste set it apart from most indica-dominant strains, with piney, earthy flavours over pungent undertones, and lists grape among both its flavour and aroma tags. Godfather OG’s THC and a careful start

Leafly’s page header gives the strain 19% THC, while its description puts it around 28% and advises people with a low tolerance to keep to small amounts; AllBud gives 22% to 25% and calls it very potent. Relaxed and hungry lead the effects Leafly reviewers report, and an AllBud reviewer describes a slow creeper that keeps building for 30 minutes to an hour before peaking.

Health Canada counts hash among the extracts it calls high in THC and would steer new or occasional users away from them. Smoked cannabis, it says, acts within seconds to minutes and may not peak until about half an hour in. Its lower-risk guidelines also hold off any driving until 6 hours or more have passed.
