Three of the four flavours of Willo’s 500 mg THC gummies carry Night titles: Lychee, Mango Peach and Strawberry. The fourth, Tropical Punch, is a Day gummy, and each bag holds ten pieces with 50 mg of THC apiece.
How Willo describes the four flavours
Willo describes Lychee as aromatic and sweet, with some floral and acidic notes. Mango Peach pairs juicy peach with tropical mango, Strawberry is juicy and sweet with a slightly sour taste, and Tropical Punch is sweet and tangy, built on passionfruit and pineapple notes.
Willo’s pages list Lychee, Mango Peach and Strawberry as indica and Tropical Punch as sativa.
Winterized oil in a gelatin gummy
Willo uses winterized CO2 full-spectrum oil for the THC. The ingredient list adds gelatin, glucose, sugar, sorbitol, potassium sorbate, citric acid and the flavouring. Willo is based in Toronto, and according to its home page, sourcing, production and packaging all happen locally. The same brand also sells concentrates, tinctures, vapes, beverages, chocolates and pre-rolls through its own shop.
Taking a 50 mg gummy slowly
Halving a gummy is Willo’s suggested start for first-timers, and it cautions that onset can stretch to 2 to 3 hours. Edible THC is broken down by the liver, so it comes on later and lasts longer than a smoked dose.
Health Canada recommends starting with an edible that contains a maximum of 2.5 mg of THC, and says eaten cannabis can take 30 minutes to 2 hours to be felt and up to 4 hours for the full effects. Its cannabis use guidelines add that at least 6 hours should pass between using cannabis and driving.
Between uses, Willo recommends a cool, dry place out of heat and direct sunlight, such as the fridge. Our edible expiry guide goes into shelf life and storage in more detail.
